Today you will begin working on your Projects. There are 2 handouts that need to be finished for homework. Due Tuesday 30th. Understanding Birth Defects and Help this unborn child.

Birth Defects-Research Project
Due October 9th value=20%
Alone, or with a partner choose a Birth Defect to research. There is a list in your text book on pages76-78. Your target audience is new mothers.
Create a poster that includes:description, causes, how it is detected, treatment, and if there are any organizations that help educate people about this defect.
Your poster should have a title and a border. It should look professional with no hand writing on it-must be typed. Pictures can be used to help it look colorful and eye catching to people walking by.

Guest Speaker
Our class will welcome Heather Bass on Monday. She will talking to us about the importance of Breastfeeding.

Parenting Magazine Article review. 1st paragraph the title of your article plus why this article caught your attention. 2nd Para=include kep points the article is trying to get across. 3rd Para=how will this article help you in the future when dealing with children?
Put this in your learning journal section #4. Don't forget to return the magazines. Due Wednesday 17th
September 17th Read pages 57-71 on The Developing Child. Work on the Prenatal Puzzle and the Prenatal Development handouts.
Learngin Journal #5 Interview your mother or look through baby albums or clues and record what kind of baby you were like in the womb. Ex's=mom's cravings (did this affect you?), your movements, your mom's health, funny stories. Due Friday 19th.
